    I think it's nearly identical although I suppose ctrl-alt-del might do a more graceful shutdown than a battery pull. That might allow the OS to clean up some temp files that might otherwise get left hanging.

    Pulling the battery and alt+shift+del are soft reset. Either one is just as effective. The 3 key punch is much quicker and is the method I use.
