Place the mp3's in a different folder. Consider making a new folder on the media card named "Music" or something different than where the ring tones are stored.

I named my folder "mp3". Try naming the folder where your music is "mp3". That should work.
So then you will have two folders. One named "music" and one named "mp3".

U should place ur music in the music folder.
I have inside the music folder, another 4 in order to have it all organized by genres.
Once, I accidentally placed a ringtone into the music folder, and it was in the media centre of my phone, but in the music "tab" and I just performed cut/paste in the right folder and it went to the ringtones "tab"
