First off do you have a MicroSD card? Because you'll need one.

    look here #4: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...on_issues.html

EDIT: If you don't have a card then you are limited to 2mb files to transfer to your BB device memory. And you will run into this problem #15 in that same thread.

kinda have to agree w/ cisco on this one Miloman.. the bb is meant to do a variety of different things.. but w/o a data plan.. its just an ordinary phone that plays a few mp3s and videos..

You want to buy and install the ringtones over the air or you already have them and want to install them?
Can't help you with the former, but with the latter, just drag and drop them on your device via usb, then tell the phone what ringtone you want to use.
Of course you'll hit the memory limit without a memory card, but a ringtone mp3 file doesn't have to be that big so if you're careful with file size you can get at least a dozen on there.

Re: About to throw it out the window!!

As already noted... without an SD card you're limited to what size files u can transfer directly to your device...

and without a data plan, u can only do it via USB... invest in the data plan (if u can) it will make the use of your Curve much more enjoyable and easy for that matter... if not, certainly get an SD card... they are pretty inexpensive nowadays for the smaller cards...

But for heaven's sake... don't do what you're thread title suggests...

do you even have a memory card? if so then make sure mass storage mode is ON.

if you dont have a sd card, then there is no way to make it show up and a 'removable disk'

Yes, get a memory card. Then you can send the pics and tones through the DM to your phone.

there is a free program called audacity, that will allow you to edit the MP3's I have used it on my MacBook so I'm sure there is a free Windows version also.

I have been using this program for years now, great FREE program! I still think that all Blackberry's need the data plan to work to their full potential. It's worth it imo.
