    8900 & Emailing Vdeos

    Hi,

    Here's one I get can't get working...

One of my users is trying to send a video clip that they've taken using their new BB 8900, but having issues.

I'm the BED admin and I also have the 8900 and I've tested this, sure enough, it doesn't work.

If I goto a video and click the menu button, there's no option to send via email, only via Bluetooth.

If I create an email then click attach file, I'm only presented with still photos and not the videos.

    Can anyone help me out?

The OS: 4.6.1.109 on my 8900.

    Thank you.

When I try to send a video that is too large, I also only get the options to send via Bluetooth.

Try recording a clip under 15 seconds, and send that. It's basically a size limitation..

You have to go into the video camera settings and change it for mms... I think that way it'll give you the option to send the video... I believe any clip will have to be under a certain size for it to be emailed through a bb as an attachment...

Anything above 2MB cannot be emailed, or downloaded through Blackberries. That is what i found out. If someone knows another why to have it download or send larger files; feel free to educate us me on it.... =^)

    2.9mb actually... That's the limit...

If you use opera mini for downloading, you can dl up to 100mb files (that's the max I've tried)...

    Red/Planeau,

    Thanks for the tips guys,

I've set the video for MMS and tested it, but still no good.

I compose an email, hit attach file, but I only get presented with my still photos, no videos.

So I try the other way, goto my videos, and selct the vid in question, but still no good.

As I mentioned, I'm on a BES. But, what's interesting, I also have my Gmail going to my BB by registering with Vodafone online, and if I were to use the Gmail account, it tries to send but doesn't, i just get a red cross after a short while, at least I don't get any errors though.

But, when I switch to my corporate account (Desktop) it comes with:

'Email service does not support these types of attachments. Change the send using field or remove the attachment.'

Maybe it's something on my BES that I need to adjust, any ideas?

    Thanks.

I think the bes it policies apply to the entire device, including personal emails...

And is the video over the 2.9 mb limit?

    The video is only 101k.

I look after the BES and I've no IT policies enabled for my device or the other 8900 device in question.

    I'm stuck on this one!

OK, that's for helping with this one.

I'm not sure what else I can check. It wouldn't be a carrier thing, would it? If not, I can only put it down to the OS version. What OS are you on Red?

    Thanks

    Email went through...

I'm on a bold running .247 just made a video n shot it to myself...

Its either an OS thing or some BES issue... I'm not familiar with bes backend, so I can't help you much there...

Go into the video camera options and change the "video format" to mms mode...
