Any insiders got some scoop for us drooling fools??
To clarify, the 9220/Manum is a HSPA version of the 8900 with touch and a full physical qwerty keyboard.

I'm hoping this "rumor" holds true... love my BB but I'm in dire need of an upgrade from my 8310.

I don't see any reason for at&t to bring a EDGE only device out. The only way I can see this is if they market it more towards the media hungry market rather than an all around device. They have the Bold. How can you top RIMs flagship device. I will own both when the 8900 comes out on T-Mobile but I doubt I will be that impressed with it to say its better than the Bold will have to wait and see.. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Tmob isn't getting rid of 2g, that's never been talked about. In fact, they barely have any 3g out now. The issue is with ATT's 2g but I wouldn't worry about that going away anytime soon. The 8900 will work about as fast on EDGE as the ATT Bold will on 3g in a lot of places, maybe faster in some. Same goes with the Vzn Storm. It's not any faster where I live than the 8900 at downloading web pages. The thing is that download speed has a lot to do with the phone's hardware and not everything to do with the carrier's network. That was obvious when WiFi phones came out. They were not nearly as fast as a laptop. Also, Blackberry phones are different than some other 3g phones so they may not be as fast on, say, ATT's 3g network.

So you think that the 8900 would be just as fast as the g1 with 3g network

But I think I'll go with the Bold still... It think. I seriously need a hands on test for myself with the 8900...
I've had both and, while I absolutely loved the Bold, it really was big. If you like wearing it on your belt, it shouldn't be an issue. But in a jeans pocket it really is bulky.
