I've had the 8530 for a week now. Replaced an 8830. Tried the tour for a week first but decided I need a physical keyboard. What can I tell you about the 8530?

The Tour has a keyboard. You mean the Storm?

I think that's what maroon means. And I agree I hate touch keyboards. The 8520 is an excelent phone. I really have no complaints

Yes, I meant the Storm. It was the Storm II I tried for a week. My wife tried it, too and neither of us liked it.

So back to the 8530 v 8230... For me it had to be the 8530 because I needed to stay with VZ.

Is it the the 8230 which is a flipp phone (128 mb ram) or 8330 the old curve (96 mb ram). The 8530: newer technology, trackpad (less dust & lint problems) AND 256 mb ram. If you like after market apps, then there is no compairing. Not to mention wifi with 8530.

So I actually went with a HTC Droid Eris, then tried out the MOTO Droid, both are great and I picked up the 8530 for the wife.

I had the 8320 with tmo for a year and a half. great phone Although had its problems. After updating os to 4.5 camera and video sucked!! Also it was hour glass happy had to pull battery many times a day. Was reluctant to get the 8520 because it's a low end blackberry but let me tell you its the curve very improved fast cool fun no hour glass hang ups with 128 mbs of app storage camera and video is great. It comes with 7 games..blackberry rocks!! If you like curves you should really check it out you will not be disappointed.

So we sold the 8530 and my Eris and went back to AT&T cause the wifey wanted an iPhone, and i still had my old iPhone 3G that i re-activated. I have since then sold the iPhone because of crappy OS4.0 on mine (she still has 3.1.3 on hers) picked up a 8520 for a few weeks, then returned it (didnt want the contract extentended. So now im on a unbranded fully unlocked 8100 Pearl. Ive had it in the past, its a decent little device for texting and emails. Thats all i need it for. Sux it has not HTML (like the 8520 did) but it will hold me over until i figure out what exactly i want.
