Well, first i assume its the only way
to load applications on to your BB..

Second, where is it located..? When
i first hooked up my phone it began
to install things, but there is nothing
on my computer related anyway to
    a blackberry.

Already used the search, never really
    found any question/answers.

    Deadly,

    Welcome!

In my blog you will find links to download desktop manager. Although you can also install some applications over the air (OTA), you will find DM to be very useful and also needed if you want to sync your device with Outlook. This will also install the drivers for your device on your computer.

You might take a look at some of the other links in the blog, especially the FAQ's.

Good luck and post back any questions!

Roxio Media Manager is the rather bulky program you will be missing. The only feature I use that you may miss is it's ability to quickly and easily convert media including videos to a format supported by your BB, although there are other apps to do that if needed.

Its really your preference. Lots of folks skip the Roxio DL and there are smaller programs that will do the trick. Actually I have never had a problem with music, and for months I used Seabryds BB Video converter with no problems. It is free and much smaller. Hayden recently posted a link to a one click video converter I tested that worked fine.

I am having a problem with transferring files onto Blackberry 8330 Curve. Every time I choose Convert for Optimal Playback it flashes an error:
    File Transfer Error
One or more of the following files could not be transferred
All settings seem to be in order. I tried to take SD card out of the device and use it as a drive.
    Please help!
    Thank you.
    Andre
