This video may explain the screen assembly for you. It is for the 8700 but they are similar in how they attach.

i picked up an new lens for the curve from a supplier in HK. I cracked the screen and just ordered a new lens. The lens is held in place by a thin glue membrain that is afixed to the lens itself. Istalltion was easy i just pried the lens off carefully, cleaned up some of the glue and put the new lens cover on, it clicks into place.
