i have a linksys router at home for my pc and laptop, my Tmo rep said i wouldnt need to buy the TMO router i can use mine. Just that the difference would be my router would look for my pc first then my phone, wheras the TMo router is for the phone.

well my question would be, i hear alot of people talking about UMA, i have not seen this on my phone at all.
When i am home it says T-Mobile - My Spot, which is my router, so i see that it works. But i dont understand the uma thing, can someone shed some light on this for me....pirdy pleaseeee?
Did you do a full restore when you got your 8320? if so you need to wipe your device, then do an advance restore (only restore address book, messages, memos, saved emails etc..) do not install any of the service book stuff. This worked for me, now I see UMA

    Goodluck!

Yea I did that same thing. Came home all excited with the curve. Did the device switch wizard from the pearl and half of it didn't work. Now since I wiped it. Flawless. Couldn't be happier with it. Just give your phone a little time and it will automatically download its own service books and it will function right.

I did the same and did a device switch and the wifi would only work with data and never saw the uma signal. After I wiped it and only imported my address book and a few other things things smoothed out completely and I get full UMA signal on my phone while at home.

Wow, so on the advanced restore menu there are a ton of choices to pick from... Not exactly sure what to restore/not restore. Anyone?

Can't you do a full restore then re-wipe and deselect wipe 3rd party apps?

ok - pick things like address book, messages, content store, profiles,

stay away from service books at all costs

auto text - i think that has to do with shortcuts you type like im becomes I'm automaticly. I don't think it will hurt, but you might not have anything beyond the default in there anyhow.
