    I am so PO'ed
I am on my second 8310 and same thing again
the pin inside the charging port got bent so it won't charge

The last time, I called warranty xchange and they said it was from
physical abuse so I was SOL

So here I am with another one and same problem

Anyone have this problem with their curve? Maybe should try another model of BBm like 88 or Pearl

I actually just switched to the 8310 from a Pearl yesterday because I did the same thing. So I don't think you'll see a difference by switching models.

    Post Charging Port Issue

I also have had a pin bent in the charging port - rendering the phone unchargeable! RIM warranty does not cover it - physical damage!

Anyone else been affected by this problem - is it a design fault?

I haven't had that problem, but I do know (after having a few BBs) that some of the charging cables are harder to insert and remove than others which could be a factor here.

Wow, that truly sucks and I am sorry to hear about this. There is another option for charging though. Seidio has a docking station that you can sit a skinned (well a Seidio skinned unit) or unskinned device in the cradle and it will charge using the charging plate on the back of the 8310. It can be plugged into a USB or to an electrical outlet. Here is the link:

    http://www.seidioonline.com/index.as...ROD&ProdID=970

It runs around $30. I use it and love it. Good luck.

I just bought one of these too, but cannot tell if it is working because my battery was fully charged. What does yours do if the battery is done charging?

Hello I live in detroit I don't have that issue but decided to call around just-in-case. I found that it can be repaired/replaced for around 40 bucks or so. Found some places in different cities too. Check around

I have seen the ports for sale too cnn.cn but don't know how hard it is to replace. The charging pod is the way to go $18 on Amazon.com search ASY-14396-002

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~It might be your cable causing the damage.
