    8300 vs 8800

Is the software the same on the two units? I know the main difference is the camera vs GPS. I've already got GPS in my vehicle so having GPS on my phone is not a concern. Will I be losing any features or functionality by going to the curve over the 8800? I'd consider myself a power user, and I've been using an 8700g. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

They are the same, besides the obvious differences... I have a Curve and I must say I like it very much But it depends on your preference... If you like your 8700, then I know you'll like the Curve, it's basically a smaller, yet newer version of the 8700... RIM is coming out with the newer version of the 8800, called the 8820, same as the 8800, except with Wi-Fi... Good luck on whatever you choose

I would recommend either one of them. You don't have much to loose whichever way you go.

Any ETA on the 8820? I'm looking to purchase in the next 30 days or so.

should be the last week of august or the first two weeks of september, give or take! The 8820 was on the most recent "Price List" I printed, and thats usually a pretty good indication that its right around the corner...

    Re: 8300 vs 8800

My hubby had the 8800. IMO the keys are better and it has a camera, so that's better. He bought a GPS system after he had the phone. The GPS was nice, but he needed it for work. As a cop, it was too tedious to use the keys on the phone if he was in a hurry...and it lagged a tiny bit....but going at 100mph with sirens wailing, you can't have a lag....SOO----he ditched it (more like took it swimming) and got the curve.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?

Humm... I may go with the 8300 then. Seeing as I don't need GPS and really won't need WiFi, the 8300 will work. Thanks for the input and I can't wait to get it! Good by T-Mobile 8700g, hello AT&T Curve!

This is only my opinion!!... But If u buy a RIM phone from "t-mo-blah" (that's what I call THEM) the quality of ur PDA, isn't going to be as great.... But then again, like I said, that's just my opinion
