    8300 vs. 8310

I am brand new to the 8300 family and have read in a couple of threads on this site that AT$T has upgraded a couple of folks to the 8310. What does the 8310 do that the 8300 doesn't?

GPS that's about it...a few OS upgrades as well nothing to significant other than the GPS.

I would add to that it looks a whole lot slicker than the original due to the new colors - crimson & titanium, sorry silver 8300 Also, the crimson sports a black keyboard ~ sweet! Overall I think the build quality on the 8310 is better. Feels better and the posts I've seen on this report the same. Keep in mind this is the 2nd generation Curve so I would recommend going with the 8310.

GPS is nice but not enough in my book for a switch. The face plates are interchangeable. I have switched up to the titanium myself.

I too am happy with my 8300. I have no use for gps. The new colors are great though, I sooo like the crimson.

Question for you all - with the 8310, do you still need to DL and install the calander patch?

Only new feature = GPS. You may have access to the coming 4.3 OS quicker when owning an 8310 or 8320. But not much else.

You can buy the Titanium and Red face plates here:

So the 4.3 OS will be out for all 83** series?

My only real gripe about the 8300 is no AIM service and Yahoo 2.0 not being useable without a hack.

You can download a free trial of JiveTalk to get AIM on your curve. It also serves GoogleTalk and YahooIM all in one app.
