Neither did mine. Should have waited and bought from a US dealer.

Thumbs down Re: 6GB Micro SD in your Curve?

I have a 6gb card but when I installed it on BB Curve it only formats as a 1.6GB. Am I doing something wrong or does this size not work in the Curve???

You should read through this thread to see if you find the answer. I had the same problem with my card and followed the instructions there.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Ihave a 6gb on my curve, but I can,t load more than 1.6gb of data. Yet it shows as 5.6gb in advanced options. I also have to access it raw in order to load anthing because DM does not recognize it.

Re: 6GB Micro SD in your Curve?

So I FINALLY got my 6GB card!

Where do I start... the problems with this thing are quite bothersome. First, if you format through windows it likes to give the card only 1.86GB of storage. Then, after you format with SD Formatter and card reader it reads correctly...until you load up more than 2 GB (~= 1.86GB)

Connect your BB (with 6GB inside) back to the computer and somehow, even in mass Storage mode, Windows wants to reformat! Grrr...

Not sure what to do, I can reformat with Card reader, load my stuff back on, put card back into BB and then keep the BB away from the home comp, but when I want to sync anything... will I have to repeat this everytime!!?!! Madness I say!

So guys, do you have to keep taking your 6GB card out of BB and into card reader everytime you want to add new stuff, or does your BB, when connected to computer, report the right size when Windows Explorer reads it?

    Thanks,
    -Marcus

Re: 6GB Micro SD in your Curve?

I found this one of the 6gb foums....

    Supported microSD media cards

    Doc ID :
    KB05461
    Last Modified : 2007-10-02
    Document Type : What Is

    Environment
    BlackBerry® 8800 smartphone
    • BlackBerry® Curve™ 8300 smartphone
    • BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100 smartphone
    • MicroSD media card
    Details

A microSD media card is a small, removable flash memory data storage device. When inserted into a BlackBerry smartphone, it can extend the memory available for storing media files such as videos, ring tones, pictures, or songs. The media card is sold separately from the BlackBerry smartphone.
Currently, BlackBerry smartphones support media cards with up to 8GB of memory. MicroSD media cards with 4GB and 8GB of memory require BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry® Device Software 4.3 or later.

So I'm guessing for those who purchased 6GB cards, you will have to wait for 4.3 so this issue could be dealt with.

Yes, but will RIM let us have 4.3 software on the Curve? I really doubt it.

    That sucks! It's total BS!
