Format it with your pc, but make sure you have a card reader which support high capacity memory cards.

I just bought myself a SANDISK 6gb card. Formatted it in my 8300 Curve (operating under OS 4.2.2.67) and it dropped to 1.68gb as described above. When I then plugged the card into the SANDISK micromate that came with it and attempted to reformat on my computer, I could format but the only option I got was to format it back to 1.68gb - there was no other size option

Can anyone explain to me how I get back to the original 6gb. Second question, can I actually use the 6gb card at all under the current OS?

    Thanks

    Re: 6gb micro sd card

    Sorry,
I do not beleive that the current OS supports 6gb sd cards. This is from RIM:

Currently the BlackBerry smartphones running the following BlackBerry® Device Software versions will support up to the size listed.

BlackBerry Device Software Media Card Size Limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0Up to 2GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0Up to 8GB

    Thanks, GaryF

I have also gone through some of the other threads by now and noted that I will just have to wait for 4.3.0 - the stability of other solutions is not good. Back to the iPod nano for now.

With regards to my second question, do you have any idea why my computer tells me I only have 1.68gb on the card now, even when I use the SDHC card reader that came in the pack?

    Have a nice weekend

I use Windows XP Home and rightclick on the drive once I open up "My Computer" which then offers me the drop down menu

Did you try to re-format the card with your desktop (out of the 8300)?
