Right now I am trying to load 4.5 on my 8320 - have loaded new DM and Device Software, removed the Vendor.xml file and as it loads, I am sitting in fear. I wiped out my BB when I was having problems with the internet constantly loading pages. Hopefully this will solve the problems. I loaded the device software from Rogers. Please let this work - I have been struggling with the installation for about 13 hours ( minus the 6 hours of sleep in between).

Which version of 4.5 is the best and/or should I go with a different OS version? How do I find out exactly which version it is (.18; .124...etc)

    All help is so welcome!!
First joannab, DON'T disconnect the BB from your p-c while installing, even if nothing appears to be happening, until you get the "complete" message. I don't remember what exactly it is but it's very important that you wait. It can take up to an hour to coplete the install.

Next, once the OS is installed, go to "options> about and it will list the OS like this: "4.5.0.xxx" where xxx is the exact version that you want to know. Which one is best is a moving target. I'd stay with one of the officially released one for now. Since you're new it'd be better to get familiar with all the functions of your BB than to experiment with the "newest" releases. Hope that helps.

Thought so - hopefully it'll be fixed in a new release soon. It IS a beta after all, right?

How about the camera function itself, any problems there? I never use the video camera except as a flashlight occasionaly.

I haven't noticed any problems with the regular camera but I don't use it much either. Anyone else?

Yep. I guess we'll all be moving on from .100 as soon as there's something to replace it.

Think I'll wait a bit until the release with the new BBM. Speculation is .110, but we'll see.

...and maybe you'll get a video camera fix with it as well. I can't see any particular reason to rush into 5.0 at this point.

No because as bassman said RIM does not allow posting of beta software.

is there a new one past 5.0.100 because im running it on my 8900 and i clearly see glitches and im ready to upgrade asap but downgrading is out of the question because 5.0 bbm is worth all the glitches

I heard the latest was 5.0.0.130 but it hasn't leaked. 5.0.0.100 is the latest leaked Beta version out. I wish there was a leak already....geesh!
