    5.0?

First time posting in a while...

I had to call T Mobile today to get my speaker fixed, and of course they made me run through re-installing the os, so I thought about what's out now.

What is the latest stable? And is there a beta that's pretty solid?

I'd personally say 4.6.1.250 is really stable. I think rogers or att released an offical .250 and I'm running the .250 beta and its fine

Ditto that. I am running 4.6.1.250 (official release) with no issues.

Check the latest OS by device with download links HERE

I have seen good reports on .100 beta of 5.0 if you decide to go that way.

And good to see you on line BamaFan!

i am old school... still on .247 !! lol
Might wait for a GOOD version of 5.0...but haven't seen anything that would warrant moving.

Meaning that I dont want to have to jump through tweaking hoops to make things work. I can wait...

The new .250 from Rogers is solid. No problems as of yet. I've heard so many mixed reports on the 5.0's out there, including .100 that I'm going to wait a bit personally.

i agree with Gary. I have seen people running 5.0 without a whole lot of problems. The main issues seem to be surrounding getting apps to work.

Here's a link to an article that lists some of the new features in 5.0:

    http://www.blackberrycool.com/2009/0...tails-roundup/

In addition to what's in that list: BB Messenger is different, and you can select different ring tones/alerts for individual contacts. That's about all I can think of right now...

5.0.0.100 seems to work pretty well IMO. I get an odd little glitch every once in a while but I can't even say that's caused by .100. I'm running Berryweather, IM+, IM+ for Skype, Bold, Opera, Slacker, Podcasts (Chris's version), Nobex, Free Range, Superpages, etc., - most anything that will run wi-fil without a data plan.

Give it a try - you can always go back. :iup:

Pd, Have you tried your video cam? There were some reported problems with that so I tried mine and had some too. I recorded one video where I only got audio and NO video at all. It also locked my phone when I tried to delete the John Mayer (preloaded) video. (I never use the video cam on that phone anyway so it's not a problem to me.)

I am still a complete 'newbie' when it comes to this. Right now I am trying to load 4.5 on my 8320 - have loaded new DM and Device Software, removed the Vendor.xml file and as it loads, I am sitting in fear. I wiped out my BB when I was having problems with the internet constantly loading pages. Hopefully this will solve the problems. I loaded the device software from Rogers. Please let this work - I have been struggling with the installation for about 13 hours ( minus the 6 hours of sleep in between).

Which version of 4.5 is the best and/or should I go with a different OS version? How do I find out exactly which version it is (.18; .124...etc)

    All help is so welcome!!
