That son *&^*&^(*^&&%^&& sorry but i know the feeling i bet that kid doesn't even know what to do with it. I hope your berry explodes in his shorts. Yeah...his shorts.
Yeah.... His shorts. Yeah , that's the ticket..
Tell him you want to"buy" the berry back, when he shows up have the cops with you when you meet him.

Posession of stolen property that's all you can't prove he is the one who broke into the vehicle or the one who took it unless he admits to it then still it is even a long shot.
Not to try to sound like a tough guy but I think breaking his teeth would make me feel better then a slap on the wrists by the cops.
By the way, thanks for all the responses folks. I'm feelin the BB community love...
As the wife of an LAPD officer who has had TWO if her cars broken into and over 3000K worth f damage each time---there is nothing the cops can/will do for you. Yeah, they'll take the report, but they won't tell all other cops to "watch for a crook with a bb that might not be his"....sucks but its the truth. If you have rentersor homeowners insurance however, that will pay for it (which is how I got a 3000K check for both times my car was broken into)

That's pretty much a standard for those of us that aren't big city departments.... although, we are starting to work our way there... at least to midwest standards of big city which is still a fraction of LAPD.
But still, a vehicle burglary is a crap shoot. If its a one or two time deal that someone did. Chances of clearing it with little to no evidence is slim. If is a pattern they've developed or are starting to get greedy, they can usualy be cleared wether it's catching them, someone ratting them out, or evidence leading to them. If it's a teenager... stole the gum so it probably is... they usualy talk. Word get's around and they get ratted out. Crimes commited by kids in this area are usualy cleared rather quickly.
