video converter storm (POST HERE)
if you are using or know of a program to easily convert videos to use with the blackberry storm post them here
I CANT FIND ANY GOOD ONES.
ALSO maybe you can just post me a profile list so if i use pinnacle or something i can just customize the project to gear tords use on the storm.
So what are some good video editors for the 9530 storm??
i use mediacell blackberry video converter. it was free when i downloaded it. works fairly well, and although mine only has pearl curve and 8800 presets in it. you can edit setting to fit storm resolution
best of all it recognizes ripped DVD file formats and will convert those as well
I haven't done alot of converting for the Storm, but this worked for me so far.
Seabyrdtech's BlackBerry Video Converter
BlackBerry® Certified Support Specialist
googled and found this
cant speak on its reliability though. maybe someone can comment on that site?
if it is in fact still free, i still have the installer.exe...if the mods dont mind i can email that file
use these settings
Output Container: mp4
Video Codec: MPEG-4
Audio Codec: AAC-LC
Video Scale Size:
If your source is 4:3 use 480x360
If your source is 16:9 use 480x270
Use 1:1 Aspect ratio for both.
Video Bitrate: 1248kbps
Audio Bitrate: 64kbps
Sampling Freq: 44100
Channels: Mono (will reduce file size) or Stereo (Might sound better with headphones, but probably not worth it for the size increase.)
VLC -- can it not get the converting done with said stats?
Wondershare Video Converter Platinum, seems to work great, althogh i am using the iphone profile due to the fact there is no blackberry one. it works great but the size of the screen is not perfect. ow well.
Now there are many software to resolve the problem, such as Xilisoft WMA MP3 Converter ,ImTOO WMA MP3 Converter, MP4converter MP4 to MP3 Converter and etc.
i use MelodyCan Video Converter.
I used CloveDVDmobile since I already own a copy to convert to xvid/mp3.
The resulting AVI is the following:
When transfered over to the Storm the file will open, but I get an error saying "An error has occured attempting to play media." When I exit out of the error I can see the total time of the file, it just won't play any audio or video from the file.
Anyone else having the same issue?
I'm having problems. Tried as stated above, but no luck. Then tried different combinations of 480x320, 15fps, DirectShow Decode on and off, but still getting errors when I try to grab a VOB directly off the DVD. Do I need something to yank the video off the disk first?

This same error message (although it did alternate between the DirectShow Decode button, recommending it be off if it was on and vice versa...) showed up for other known good and functional video clips (.wmv, .mov and .avi)........
looking for clues (in all the wrong places?)
PS - if I ever get this working, where does it dump the resultant file?

Vio video converter
I found it today, it works very well and encode movies ( 700/750 MB) in 10/15 min. quality really good and size the half the original.
Why don't give a try?
Note: there is not option for the Storm, but i've tried setting it for the Bold and it works very well too (so i've got Saw in my phone! so scary!)
