Smile using the flash as a flashlight

i was playing around with my phone when i happen to stumble on to how i could use my storm as a flashlight whenever i wanted to. here are the steps i took to set my storm for that.
-go into your video camera application
    -press the blackberry button
    -go to options
-under video light, switch to on
-now when u need a flashlight, you just got to got to your video camera application and the flash will stay on as long as you need it too.
for a quick step, after setting up your flash to come on automatically whenever u open ur video camera app on the storm, set your video camera app as one of the left or right convenience keys.

i hope this helps you guys out for everyone thats been wanting to use the flash as a flashlight.

    Thanks for the tip articus.

I did this when I had to change a fuse in my car, only problem I ran into was, I was upside down under the steering wheel console and every 30 seconds the flashlight would time out. Next time I'll just document the process to keep the light on,

if you dont have it set to always on then when ever the accelerometer kicks in it turns it on and off as the screen changes position when the light is set to automatic.

Warining: this will drain battery and if you leave it on for to long it can damage the flash notice how there's very little or no apps that use flash as a flashlight lol ^^

How do you do this with the Curve and Pearl since they don't have video camera capability (unless you're using 4.5)?
I just use the Blinkberry app for a flashlight.

Actually I have the 8330 and 8130 which came with the video recording capabilities on OS 4.3. But they are running 4.5 now

Heck! I just used the screen from my pearl as a flashlight the other night! Needed to look under the car and needed light badly! Took out my pearl and shined my screen towards the dark area! Worked really well! I was like "Wow! My BB is good for lots of things!" Lol!

I'm also a big fan of this. Such a bright light and it has a phone attached to it

I use my 8130 as a flashlight with the bbm home screen. It's brighter than my normal home screen, it's set to my side buttons. Heck the only thing I'm missing on my phone is some pliers, a couple screwdrivers, and a knife. Then my phone could do everything I want it to.

Oh wait, I don't have a flash player either. So I still need an actual computer. ~via smartphone~

If you turn the phone upside down then the accelerator wont kick and the light will stay on.
