I finally gave in and tried this with a small piece of foam and stuck it the inside of the battery cover and what a difference it has made! Great idea and it hasn't been an issue with the battery temp during charging. I say go for it

Really, why so? I was under the impression that it was a hardware issue as opposed to an OS one.

I just figured I would see how it works without, and I have been doing ok. I'll put another one under and see what happens, lol.

you guys should search the forum for the "alternate screen fix" that involves loosening the torx screws that were overtightened in many of the first Storms, causing the screen not to "click" very well. it works much better than the paper trick and doesn't require repositioning the paper when you do your battery pulls.

i was a little skeptical about this... and that it would destroy my storm. But i got a regular piece of printer paper and folded it in half and traced the battery, and placed it behind the battery door, and it worked perfectly! At first i didn't really notice the difference until i did some extreme txting

But we also have 3 storms. I compared the click to the other two and i realized that mine (the one with paper) feels like like a true buttony-click hahaha! that sounds so weird.. But it does. I feels a little looser though in a way, but it's fine it's a lot easier to use.. I'm still a little concerned though ... why does this work?
I simply put a a thin piece of paper, and it was just folded twice. Strange....
I love my phone so much now. It's keyboard is comparable to the sidekick? i'm not sure, i've never used the sidekick much, but it's basically the same feel, except no raised keys.

I really love the storm now. I never realized that there was anything to improve for the screen, but when i inserted the paper, it was 10 times better. amazing...

I was happy with the responsiveness of my screen, but I've had it for 2-3 weeks now and the corners are definitely less responsive (i.e. almost useless). Tried the business card thing here at work and that just made the screen feel tighter...less responsive even. Don't have the proper tools here to try and loosen any screws. Has anyone else's corners worsened over time?

Other than that, I really am enjoying the device.

have not had this problem, my screen is MUCH better on the replacement I got about 2 weeks ago and I was giving some tips to a fellow storm user, and the screen pretty much sucked and annoyed me... If youre within 30 days, I would find an excuse to return it, or just tell them that the screen sucks and you want a replacement... tell them you are getting the device error randomly and its restarting almost daily, but make sure you have the official verizon OS on it

My corners were tighter and unresponsive, but that's only after it faceplanted on the tile at work...

...no visible signs of damage, so back to Verizon it went. My new one will arrive tomorrow!

First of all, I'd try to return the device and get a new one.... I did the TORX (loosen screws) trick with my original Storm and it worked great, but then I ended up having a problem with my display (unrelated to the screws) and had to get a replacement.... the replacement device's screen was much more responsive and didn't need any modification to work.

If you decide to keep your current device, I would highly recommend loosening the screws... you can get the T7 screwdriver from Sears for 2 or 3 bucks. A T6 will also work -- it's a little loose, but turns the screws just fine.
