Getting a new battery today as it keeps dying on me. Went to bef last night with 45% and this morning was dead. Put on charge and after an hour had died again. I check that nothing is running in the back ground but keeps happening. I need my phone first thing so hopefully new battery will fix this. Have upgraded the OS and made no difference.

it probably is a defective battery, what mAh is it? it can been seen on the actual battery, the good ones are the 1400, if you have 1350, this could also be part of the problem, im sure a new battery will fix this for you!

Hey - I discovered that the VZ pouch was depressing a button causing serious battery drain. Kept it in the pouch over night on a full charge. In the morning it would be down 25%. Left it out of the case on evening a awoke to 1005 charge. I began inserting the unit with buttons out of the case and eliminated excess battery drain. I'm now on 51 hours with moderate usage a still have 25% left.

They want to take the phone to test the battery before they change it. And they won't have a spare storm till jan. Going to just buy one.

4.7.0.83 seems to have really helped battery life!
Lots of talking today and still over half after 15hrs

Agreed on that! With 4.7.0.76 i was getting around 15 hours before a complete dead battery (8am-11pm), and with .83 it's been about 20 hours on this charge, with 45% battery left. VERY impressed.

Here's a list of all of my battery saving techniques:

    Screen brightness to 10%
    10sec backlight timeout
Network set to 1XEV (default is "Global", where it will scan for GSM if you ever lose EVDO connection, which can eat battery)
    and of course, 4.7.0.83!

    It's worked well so far!
