Post your Ideas for Storm apps

The goal is to get some developers to take notice of what users really want.
Here are a few ideas to start with.

+I would like full screen Google Maps with GPS support

+I want a dragon to spawn from the convenience key

+I would like to see a really robust weather application with configurable weather layers, and touch controls. Nothing wrong with impressing the ladies with my wannabe weatherman skills

    +Streaming video application

+Something similar to www.packagemapping.com but application based

    +Some sort of Flash Player

+Something like http://www.google.com/sky/ (or an add on to Google Maps)

+NES emulator that actually works in full screen with mappable buttons. Maybe it would need to have some sort of virtual controller at the bottom of the screen.

+A Jenga game might be kinda of cool with not only touch controls to remove blocks, but accelerometer support so the tower can be knocked over.

i used BB smart alarm pro on my pearl and loved it. i like the storm alarm better because you can set an alarm for weekdays only AND you can hit the right convenience key while its in its cradle for a snooze. maybe BB smart will incorporate the convenience key snooze in its new storm version.

Open calendar > Menu Key > Select New Alarm.
This will creat a fully configurable alarm appointment, which is different from the standard calendar appointment.
You can duplicate this as well to create multiple alarms per day and they can be set for days of the week just like the calendar. Select "weekly" during set up and choose your days of the week.

I'd like to see Beyond411 made compatible with the Storm.

I'd like to see a keyboard plug in that allows you to have the option to just tap the keys instead of having to press down. Setting it so that you have the option to switch it on and off like the surepress and multitap keyboards would be perfect. I think this could open things up more and allow for the screan press to maybe act as a "right click" function and add other features to it.

I love surepress and dont want it to go away. but what I really like is having the options of using supress, multitap and full qwetry. adding an iphone like tap option would just make it more user friendly.

    Wishful thinking list:
+Video Ring Tones (so you can have a video in sync with your ringtone or just a video playing or whatever you want)

    Actual list:
+Flip scrolling with kinetics (possibly a plug-in or something?)

+Silence a call using accelerometer. There's a feature in the HTC Touch Diamond/Pro that if a call comes through, you can silence a call simply by flipping the phone face down.

+Lock the device using accelerometer. There's an app someone wrote for the HTC device that if you rotate the phone 360 degrees clockwise, it will lock, and then 360 degrees counterclockwise, it will unlock.

+In general I would like to see a lot of accelerometer apps, games and/or tools & utilities. Something like what I've mentioned above.

+Dedicated youtube client with high quality streams. To my understanding, the US version of the phone does not come with the application like the Vodafone's. m.youtube is the only functioning youtube available to Verizon (from what I'm seeing, I could be wrong). However not just for streaming, but for doing everything else like quick account management, leaving comments for videos, uploading with geotagging.

+More multi-touch utilization. The copy/paste is so awesome when I tried it the other day! However my boi was playing with the browser and he immediately tried the pinching method to zoom in. I would like to see more features to utilize the capacitive screen more. I mean it is there, let's use it

+Keyboard skins? I've played with the keyboard, and it's not bad, but it would be nice if there were some alternatives to how the keyboard looks.

+Business card scanner. Windows Mobile has a OCR program that can easily read the text from a business card and apparently it saves it to your contacts.

To the original poster, the streaming video seems to work fine with Orb, so you might want to give that a try
