*BBSmart Shortcuts works like a champ when you disable compatibility mode.
go to options>advanced>applications>"hilight bbsmart shortcuts">berry button>disable compatibility mode. it's only $ 4.95 now. this is one of my favorite applications. assign it to a convenience key and you can do a crapload of stuff from it. (a tip on this tip: set it up in compatibility mode,when you get it set up turn compatibility mode off, this tip might help some other old apps as well)

If you haven't already, disable compatibility mode for BBAlerts:
Options > Advanced Options > Applications
Highlight BlackBerryAlerts, click Menu, and select "Disable Compatibility Mode". You'll have to reboot your device after you change this setting since BBAlerts is always running. This gets rid of the always-on suretype keyboard and lets you change all your settings and save them. Hope this helps.

IS WORKING! but.... just like opera mini you must lightly tap.. ALSO.. since my lists are pretty long by now from using the app. I was having a problem trying to scroll on it and couldn't figure it out since every time i tapped it would UN-reconcile my transactions and what not.. i then realized that by tapping the GREEN BAR that runs across the screen you can scroll down or up.. i don't know how to take a screenshot but i used one from their site so you know what i mean by the GREEN BAR.

P.S. Please note there is an OS 4.7.0.75 RIM audio bug which prevents 3rd party apps from playing music through the speaker. RIM have acknowledged it as a high priority problem. There is a workaround until RIM fix it : make sure you have a headset plugged in when the audio starts, then unplug it if you want to play via speakerphone.

We posted a new version 2 days ago that supports the Storm. Most of the changes involve use of the touch screen instead of the keypad shortcuts and trackball. It does use the Storm's internal GPS (no puck needed). It's still not completely done but it works and we could definitely use some feedback. The program is and will remain free.

so update to vlingo if anyone didnt figure this out... if youre having the problem setting it up - when it gets to testing the convenience key, it stops and the red light stays lit... well then all you need to do is go into the apps permissions and set "interactions" to allow as well as the other ones, i dont know why, but for some reason its not set like that by default!
the only one that downloaded for me was the 4.6 and you can just set the application permissions after you download the app if you want options>applications> highlight app > bb button> edit permissions and yes i do mean connections and user data as well as interactions!

You are just having all sorts of issues ItsNowOrNever, sorry to hear that. I had the push weather from my previous BlackBerry and it came over from performing switch device wizard with desktop manager.
