Keep in mind it's pre-release SW. In regards to the UI, well the Iphone is for multi-media. RIM has tried to strike a balance between work and play. The Storm UI is flashier than any other BB to date, but it still has to retain the straight-forward UI that RIM is known for, thus corporate users will still use it.

I can confirm that some preproduction unit do have UI issue

I played pre-unit 2 wk ago and the keyboard lag, matter fact the whole unit lag more than it should

However , now with me in my hand is the updated Telus branded unit and I can confirm that its miles better (still little hiccup at the qwerty) from what I know there is still 2 more updated before the mass release here in canada. So hold on tight guys

That's good to know about the Telus device. I'm playing w/ the vodaphone one. I really hope the UI lagging is fixed on the production units

My thoughts exactly. How will a hard plastic protector affect the dealeo.

I went to the hands on in Kansas City (also didn't win one). They said 4 or 5 times that the software was still in beta mode. Great touch and feel, but I'll have to wait until it is final. Not sure if I could unlock one and use with my att plan. Google maps and others are a go, because they are pitching it as a world phone.

I know that my WM device has a touch-screen and it's protector response is hindered by the screen-protector.

Most WinMo devices are resistive touch screen, which requires pressure. The Storm (from what I've read) is a capacitive touch, therefore it requires the physical touch of your finger, but wont respond to any other objects.

I read some other reviews online, and it's a love and hate relationship but it seems that people love it more then hate. I'm not a business owner, so I'm looking forward to this phone, seeing that my requirements are not strict

i find it seams to be slower and buggier that my win2005 pda the rotating of the screen is slow and sometimes gets stuck the way you dont want it, lets hope some new updates will sort this out.

i'm actually ok with this since it's required in order to push the screen - time will tell how much dirt will collect in there.

Also, the device doesn't seem to be equipped with a hall-effect sensor (the thing that detects whether it's in a holster), so i don't know how that'll play out - at least on the demo unit i have
