I have t-mob and a bad case of storm jealousy

I would consider switching to Verizon, but the consensus here seems to be that switching just for a new bb version is not smart. I'm also not sure about buying a storm and unlocking it to use on t-mob (besides not having a clue how to do that in the first place, the consensus also seems to be that this is a bad idea). I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have an idea of when the storm will be available on t-mobile? Will they ever get it? (I have no idea how these exclusive deals b/w rim and carriers work). One of my buddies just got one and I want to punch him in the nuts when he comes in my office to brag about it! (j/k - he is annoying though)Thanks.

My Suggestion....Be patient....even if the Storm does not come to TMO soon I am confident that unlocked 9500's will be available on our shores in the very near future.

I just know now that all phones from Verizon are CDMA which mean that they will not work on T-Mobile, AT&T or other networks that use GSM. You are going to have to wait for another release. Possibly it would resolve any issues that people are having with the storm at this time. You could get the bold and unlock it but not the storm.

"Punch him in the nuts"? I havent heard that since back in my high school days. Freakin' funny!!

Anyway, T-mobile most likely wont carry anything too high end because of their "easy to afford" data and phone plans. However, RIM is prone to kicking little "surprises" to T-mo (ie the BB Pearl flipphone) that do make them worth staying with. Just my perspective.....

"punch him in the nuts". Hilarious....

Man, its good to know I'm not the only one not feeling the love. I switched to T-mobile for the cheap plans from Verizon, and I regret it every day. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I do get a bit jealous @ times when I see the other carriers and their new berries. But I like the tried and true ones that tmo has. They don't release that often but they don't have all the issues that VERIZON and at@t are having when it comes to the os and release issues either. IMHO

well i made the switch from t-mo to verizon and i'm still waiting for my 2 storms, but since i'm using a corporate discount i'll be paying the same if not less than i was with tmobile. also, the same amount of minutes with all other things unlimited like txt, data etc.

lately i've been getting really annoyed with losing service unexplicably and my EDGE being slow. we'll see how verizon is and also how the storm pans out...

You can use either the Storm from Verizon or the Storm from Vodafone on T-Mobile if they're unlocked. Both versions can be unlocked and used on AT&T, Rogers, or T-Mobile. Question is do you want to pay full retail for the device.

storm looks cool enough. my real envy, though, as a tmo user, is ANY 3g blackberry. c'mon rim, quit screwin' around!

I was under the impression that the storm was a quad band phone meaning it would work on AT&T and TMO once unlocked. But i could be wrong...... I too wish that TMO would get the storm or the 8900 SOON! I'm going crazy bc I like everything about TMO. Great reception, low prices, and I really dont want to switch. Just wish they would get more phones from RIM.....

I started a similar thread w/TMO, but I want the BOLD lol.

Storm seems great man, but keep in mind 1. VZE essentially crippled the phone by not giving it Wifi and cutting out who knows what else. 2. Its a 1st gen device. Hopefully the exclusivity contracts don't last too long.

I had a private war with VZE and I swore them off entirely. You couldn't pay me to sign up for their service.

"Punch him in the nuts" that was pretty funny. I would be patient and wait it out, I am sure that RIM is going to release a new BB for tmobile next year. Maybe it will use the same touch technology. Anyway I ordered my storm last friday and I am still waiting for it..

It doesn't matter what the "general consensious" is in the group---if you want to switch make the switch.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?
