How did the storm hit you?
Hey fellow DFW area stackers. How were you affected by last night's storms?
I spent half the night hiding in my closet with a candle. That was really difficult because I'm so claustrophobic. There's lots of damage here, trees down and lots of stuff.
I know when the tornado activity went through Cleburne last night it said it was headed to Midlothian next. I know that's where Cherri and others are. I know some of ya'll might be without power still. Just wanted to check in on everyone!
-
Also Oklahomans... I know ya'll got hit pretty hard too.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i hope everyone is ok! I live in the north west part of arkansas and we had so much rain last night nothing bad happened but i couldnt sleep because of all the thunder and lightning these morning my street looked like a river
-
All cool north of Fort Worth. Plenty of pyrotechnics at 3 am / and the power cycling on and off (of course none of my clocks are working this morning) but otherwise just rain so far as I can tell.
Did you guys actually get Sirens Moni?
-
Yeah we had sirens. My brother (who wants to be a weatherman) called me at 3 a.m. and said there was tornado activity at Cleburne State Park, about 15 miles from me, and that it was headed north. I was like "Oh it'll be fine" because it was perfectly calm, no wind or rain or anything, and went back to sleep. Literally five minutes later he called again and the sirens were going off. It was crazy! I have never heard wind that strong and the lightning and thunder was nuts.
I'm trying to confirm if there was an actual touchdown or not. Not sure at this point. I work for the only daily newspaper in our county so I've got some inside to finding this stuff out. Reporters have been out all morning taking pictures of all the damage.

Thanks for the heads up ya'll
I am actually from midlothian (sister and other fam still there) but I live in cali now. Still haven't been able to get hold of my sis. She lives in house I grew up in where we have already had 2 touch downs in 30+ years. I can't even count how many times I've had to camp out in the bathroom in the tub
Glad everyones alright

Okay I wasn't sure if you were still in that area or not. Hope they're okay!

finally got hold of her
her response on bbm was *sleepn, call u later* lol
so must have been a long night
just glad everyone's ok
-
Scary. I'm glad to hear everyone so far is alright. I consider myself lucky I've never seen weather like that.
-
South side of Fort Worth had a lot of fireworks from power lines bouncing up and down until transformers shorted out and exploded around 3 I would guess. I was sleeping through it all until our daughter came in our room and crawled into bed with us. She gets afraid of the lightning. Had the power completely off until about 9:30 this morning (just in time for me to get up and get ready for work). Gonna have to check everything that was plugged in since there was a big "POP" heard when power came back up. Checked my TV and computer (the two important items since the Wii isn't plugged in yet
lol) and they worked fine.

Glad everything is okay Zo! That's scary to think about damaging electronics.
Here's one picture from early this morning:

Ya'll got any pictures? We have a ton but that's the one we put on the Web.
-
We didn't have anything too severe last night as they didn't reach me here in East Tx until early this morning when the sirens went off in the Canton area around 0600. We had lots of lightning, high winds, and some reports of hail.
I work for an ambulance service and we had lots of wrecks, as you can imagine for many hours after the storm. It just stopped raining about 2 hours ago.
-
north arlington is still there. a lot of tree branches on the roads this morning, but that's really it. glad to hear everyone is alright. don't think the channel 4 weather man has slept in 36 hours though.
-
Nothing last night but they are calling for bad weather this afternoon/evening. I live in North West TN, close to the river. So far the storm is to the west of us but no telling what it will do when it hits the river.
