So I went to Verizon today to get the desk charger for my storm, and ... BlackBerry Storm forum

    So I went to Verizon today to get the desk charger for my storm, and while looking in the computer to see if they were in stock, the verizon rep asks me how I like the phone. So I told him that since I upgraded the OS, I love it! He asked if the OS was .90 and I told him no, the latest one is .103. He was shocked and asked to see my phone and he actually called over 2 other reps cause he couldnt believe how fast it was. He was typing and turning the phone back and forth to see the reaction time on the screen rotation. After playing for about 10 mins he then tells me that he is due for an upgrade in 4 days and "I" convinced him to get the storm! hahaha I thought that was really funny that I convinced him to get it..... LOL anyways I told him if he wanted I would get him the link for the OS....lmao

    nah the store is right next to my job so im in there all the time and the guy that I go to always helps me and talks to me...

    Hey I'm kinda new on here and my storms a lil slow I've had verizon do the trouble shoot and I CONSTANTLY look on my blackberry manager for updates.. But no luck. If at all possible could u send me that os link to speed it up? My pin 304c784e or I can jus look back here for it.. Thanks a bunch!

    Apparently, if a device has an OS that the carrier doesn't support, and you call in with a problem, the carrier has the discretion to void your warranty. This hasn't happened to me yet.

    Yes they could void your warranty if they're jerks...

    Jjalongo... For the OS... Just google 4.7.0.103 rapidshare and you'll find yourself a link to download it... Next thing you have to do is search on pinstack for the instructions on how to upgrade to a non vendor OS... Then ur good to go...

    I use a little trick of my own if I have to CALL them. Works every time too!
    They always use the excuse about 3rd party software as the problem. Not now, hehehe.
    1st. Make sure you delete the log files. Then turn off your mobile network connection (so it does not connect right away after they make you reboot it).
    2nd. Reboot, delete log files again, turn your mobile network connection back on.
    3rd. Play stupid when they don't see any log files (especially 3rd party programs you loaded).
    4th. Make sure you do the (hehehehe) AFTER you hang up!

    yeah I happened to copy my address book awhile back and was able to restore it... works great man thanks!

    They can't void the warranty... they can say they won't support the new OS and tell you to revert to the official release if you have any issues because 103 and all others are beta, so they are expected to have issues in them. (not that .75 doesn't have way more). I would be extreamly shocked if they voided the warranty and refused to fix any other problems that were not OS related. And if they do void the warranty, just put .75 back on and tell them to prove to you there was something different on it before.

    Stop scaring people in thinking there phone is going to explode during an OS update.

    i think that's a myth. i have sent a phone back to verizon with beta os on it and have never had a problem.
