So I have seen this app that just came out for blackberry called 123Spoof, looks pretty cool, heres their description:
123SPOOF Mobile is a revolutionary Blackberry application that gives you COMPLETE control over your phone calls, empowering you to change Caller ID, disguise your voice, record your calls, and more! All this is combined with seamless BlackBerry integration.
Best of all, 123SPOOF Mobile now lets you make unlimited calls for FREE. You don't even have to sign up or enter any personal information to take advantage of this amazing offer! What's the catch? 123SPOOF Mobile plays a quick ad before connecting your call. Users who want to take full advantage of 123SPOOF Mobile without ads can sign up for an account online or inside the app.
Here are a few of the major features that you will not find anywhere else or all in one place:
    • Go straight to someone's Voicemail. Don't feel like talking to some people? Just leave em' a message! Their phone never rings, but still shows a missed call from your spoofed Caller ID!
    • Record your calls and replay them straight from your phone. 123SPOOF Mobile also integrates with your address book
    • Spoof internationally

That is for the plus account. I don't think there is a need to sign up if you want the free version

I don't know what you guys are talking about.
I downloaded it to my bold about 2 hours ago.
Wasn't able to get account on their website.
The links wouldn't take me to the right page.

BUT it DOES work. I installed it and restarted.
In the settings, you don't put in a pin.
That's for the paid account. I entered the phone
numbers accordingly. Some ad came on. I was talking.
Didn't hear it. Was asked to press * for a text.
After I did it, the phone started ringing.
Friends caller I.D. showed the made up number.
It wasn't mine. There was never a request for a card number.

    Thought u should know.

agree with most of this post. i installed spoof today and its great... and free. the free version limits calls to 2 minutes, and disallows changing the character of voice (male to female, female to male, etc.), and it forces you to listen to an ad. after listening to the ad, you CAN (but DO NOT HAVE TO) press * to get a text with info about what was just advertised, otherwise it just goes right to ringing, and voila... its a fun prank, but not much else. no fraud or problems at all. small app too.

Ok. I've been using this program for a couple of months. Its worked great everytime. As I stated earlier. I had no problems downloading it and was not asked for a credit card. The first screen is a little confusing. If you didn't pay for it, just click "no", You're taken to page that has a box for the phone number you want to call and the phone number you want to "appear" to be calling from. You can't select the record or change voice options in the free version. Hit the send button, a recording comes on advertising some software or music or whatever and tells you to hit * for a text message about it. You don't have to if you don't want any information about the ad. After about 5 seconds, you're connected to the person. It has worked every time. The free version does limit the time to 2 minutes. I don't need to record the call or change my voice. I just need certain people to pick up the phone sometimes, like my husband when he's really mad at me. There's never been any charge for it on my bill. It has definitely come in handy.

As for the name of it sounding scary....alot of the same type of programs have the word spoof in the name.

Hope this has helped put some of your doubts to rest.
