    DROPPED 9530 IN TOILET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was up in syracuse the weekend for a relatives graduation and as I was about to use the restroom in my hotel room, it happened. . . I dropped my BB Storm in the toilet. . .

I believe it was in the water for no more than 1-2 seconds. . .

    I immediately:
    removed the battery
shook any water out that i could
used handy hair blower for 10-15 minutes
left phone dry for the day

    ----------------

at night (yesterday) i try to turn it one because the signs of water seems to have gone away. . . when it boots up to the white screen I see the horrifying picture. . .screen cracked in 2 places (all the way through), and screen only works in certain places. . .

So I turned it off and let it sit with battery out for the night into the day...because they didn't want cell phones in the carrier dome when Joe Biden was talking

Soooooo, I got back to the room, picked up the phone and inserted the battery to unveil an even more horrifying scene. . .the storm's screen is completely black with some lighting from the bottom and 1 fine line of light going down. . .

I don't know what to do. . .I dont have insurance on the phone (didn't know there was a 15 day period. . .long story)

now I am about to spend 50$$ on ebay to get an 8830 (i need a phone with a sim card slot to travel)

    EDITED
check that, I just spent 50$ on an 8830

any idea if this is fixeable without buying spare parts? cuz this realy sux. . .

Forgot to say, you can prob find another one just as cheap as it would be to fix it. Patience is the key to virtue.

More than likely you tried to insert the battery too soon. Its not the water that kills a wet phone usually, its the short that occurs from a wet device plus wet battery-sorry. But try the rice trick and let your battery dry out, you may even want to order a new battery off ebay and start fresh.

I have to agree with Glenn if you put the battery in to soon then chances are its toast. I would still however try the rice and leave it for a couple of days to dry out. The hairdryer was probably not that good of an idea but hopefully it will make it through. Good luck with getting it back to life.

awwwww jeese, well thank you for all the support, and great idea's. . .

I hope in some way it's not 'toast' but i'd bet all i've got it is. . .

either way I just purchased an 8830 off of ebay for 50$. . .i figured I need to be disciplined before I can own a touch screen. . .

I new something disastrous would occur sooner or later, just couldn't fortell the future. . .

either way. . .life was much easier when I had buttons. . .

I might as well just take her a part and sell off what is good, or that i think is good. . .

    broken phone anyone

Rice won't fix a cracked seen though. If its cracked I'd buy a new one for 100 and replace it. Imo though. Good luck and sorry you had to go to 8830.

I don't mind the cracked screen, it is something that I can deal with and regardless I've. Found the screens "digitizers" on ebay for 32$ so its no big deal.As for downgrading to an 8830 its no big deal my last phone before the storm was an 8830; I have to say, life was much easier back then with buttons. Thanks for all the input
