Thumbs down Don't have you BB connected to PC when running AntiVirus on the PC!

I usually have my BB connected to my PC while I'm using the PC.
I never had a problem until last Saturday night.

I was running the usual virus scan while browsing the internet.
When the scan was finished it found a "possible" rootkit.
It was a hidden machine injection driver, which is used by several different programs.
It's harmless, but CAN be used for the "bad" people as a backdoor into your PC.

I decided to remove the rootkit anyway, and let the normal programs that use it, reinstall it. Thus making sure that it was the legit file.

    Now the Oooopsie.....
As soon as the AV was trying to remove it, my PC locked up.
No big deal, just a quick reboot and off I go again.
At the same time the PC froze I noticed that the BB Storm screen was white, with words that are way to small to read. So I removed the BB from it's cradle, did a battery pull, etc. To no avail, my Storm was frozen at that white screen of death.

Rebooted the PC and the PC is ok. But the Storm was not.
I did countless retries to jump start the BB so I could reload the software.
After about (literally) 30+ tries, I finally salvaged the Storm and it came back to life

I'm fairly sure that if it wasn't a RootKit that was trying to be removed from my PC, that the BB would have been ok. But no guarantee thou!

So to be on the safe side..DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PHONE CONNECTED TO THE PC, when running AntiVirus, AntiMalware, AntiSpyware or other such programs are running scans!!!!

The ONLY time your PC can be "safe" is by physically disconnecting all network cables, internet cables, all wireless and bluetooth connections.

And then NEVER inserting any DVD disks, CD disks, ZIP drives and floppy disks.

Other than that, you're out of luck.

    TY....TYVM

    So far so good.....
The ONLY time that I ever had this happen was trying to remove a rootkit from the PC.
But I'm not taking chances with removing virus's either!
