Ranxoren, why not wait for the GSM version to come to Rogers? Heard it'll be here around May.

The main advantage being 1) upgraded/improved software and hardware and 2) simultaneous data & voice communication.

Unless someone tells me its not coming to Rogers.

The one with Bell Canada are pre-unlocked. Not sure about Telus Canada but I think it is locked, which is probably why their subsidy cost is $600 versus Bell is $700. The storm is really a hard device to get your hands in Canada though.

Now your problem resides in the fact that common unlock codes (ones that you buy at places and online) are not yet available for the Verizon Blackberry Storm.
As far as i know, RIGHT NOW the only way to get a 9530 from Verizon unlocked is to get it on somebody's Verizon account and they call and request the unlock code from Verizon's International dept.
Basically if youre in Canada forget it.
The only way in CANADA to get an unlocked 9530 is to buy it ALREADY UNLOCKED.
That is for the moment until the 9530 unlock codes are available online on websites like www.freeyourcellphone.com etc...

How do you know about Bell being pre unlocked ? My friend got a bell one and his rogers sim didnt work in it.

I partially lied. I believe Bell is unlocked for international sim cards and locked under north american SIM.

Nope. Bell is LOCKED for every sim card . PERIOD.
You cant just select which sims to lock. Its either locked or not.
ALso, Bell always locked their sim card phones (8830) and the only reason they have a sim card is to allow you to ROAM on the bell network in a GSM only country like say France.
They do not believe in what Verizon believes in aka letting you buy a prepaid SIM overseas to not rack up roaming charges.

Confirmation : BELL AND TELUS BLACKBERRY STORMS ARE SIM CARD LOCKED.

Also please in the future, if youre not sure of something do not say it like you are 1000% sure of it : i quote :

The one with Bell Canada are pre-unlocked.
Only to retract your statement when I made you realize you were wrong :

I partially lied. I believe Bell is unlocked for international sim cards and locked under north american SIM.
Why lie in the first place ? If anything somebody could have read your first post and went ahead an bought a Bell storm thinking it would be unlocked.

    Food for thoughts ...
