9530 SD Card, Sim Card error

Ok so yesterday i took my sim card out for the first time and when i went to go play the music on my SD card they wouldnt play. I pulled the SD card out and put it back in and everything was gone. All my music all my pictures ringtones you name it it was gone. When i put the sim card back in they all came back. Is this weird and should it happen? Better yet why does it happen?

Hmm that's weird. I'm not sure if the Storm is this way but I know some older phones that I use to have won't run at all without a sim card in it. Best I could say is don't take your sim card out

Usually when you plug your phone in, a message will pop up on your phone asking you if you would like to turn mass storage on. Click yes to this message. Remember that this is for memory cards (as in microSD) not the sim card.

It shouldn't matter that you're on a Mac even though Windows is better

Go to Options/Media Card and make sure Media Card Support is set to on, Mass Storage Mode Support is set to on and where it ask to to enable when connected, have that set to prompt or yes.
