That would be a great option! . I am pretty sure that it does not though, I believe this would require a major change to the OS, as it is the Bold 9000 has 1Gb on board but does not use it for programs

I wanted to get a 16GB Micro SD Class 6, but currently they cost about $65-70. 32GB micro cards will be introduced by Spring/Summer 2010, so I expect prices to drop. My GF and I were upgrading our phones and associated accessories, I copped 2- 8GB Micro SD card both class 6 (minimum 6MB read/write rates) and you can notice an difference in times loading media.I loaded about 4GB of music/video in about 5 minutes via a USB cable to 9700.

That's Brilliant! Keeping a spare behind the battery cover. I Like That!

Have a 16gb in my 8900 that I moved from my 8310 but just ordered a Kingston 8gb micro SDHC, class 4, shipped for $17.33 as backup and I can also use these cards in my camera as well as my GPS.

I have a 16G in my 8900... I love loading movies and a lot of music on it... plus bringing files to and from work... never have to worry that I'll run out of room on it.

I have a 8gb card in my HTC Eris. Card came pre-installed but I used to have a 1gb card in my storm.

I'm not one for a lot of space, just enough for some songs and music.

    Micro SD for 9700

You can get a 16 GB micro sd card on ebay for about $20. They come from Hong Kong and take 2-3 weeks to get here, but they work perfectly, and don't fill up for before you need a new phone.

    Type of memory card

The 9700 only uses the Micro SD card. Full size SD cards won't fit.

There aren't any BlackBerrys that use an SD card. They are all micro SD cards.
