Question Using jl_cmdr to remove IT policy

So I've managed to get an IT policy on my bold... I've removed policies on other RIM devices before with no problem.

It started this morning when I downloaded the new Pandora app. The download was no problem, however when attempting to log in I get "The application pandora$2dradio has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."

I've already tried to install the blank IT policy - however I am still unable to disable the firewall (I have the red lock there). I've seen posts about using jl_cmdr to wipe the policy out... however I'm not sure where I can get jl_cmdr from... will this delete all of my third party apps? Backing up - wiping - and restoring won't help, because I'll end up restoring the IT policy...

    Halp?

Here is the thread that discusses jl_cmndr (including the download) and this is another thread that talks about removing IT policies.

    Hope these help you!

Thank you, kind sir. I promise I tried to do a thread search before posting this. Your help is appreciated - I just downloaded the file, and am going to take a crack at it.

    (fingers crossed)

I've tried everything... Well... Everything except the right thing.

I lost all my 3rd party apps, and my BBM contacts are all messed up. Back to the drawing board.

Sorry, bass. I don't have a lot of experience with the firewall/IT Policy issues. You are not able to manually turn off the firewall? Is the IT policy gone?

Nah, I'm not on BES - I'm unable to turn it off... I have that small red lock. I've gotten rid of plenty of IT policies on RIM devices, but this is a horse of a different color (colour?). Again, I thank you all for your input.

Have you tried resending service books?

You might also call your provider and make sure something didn't happen on their end and your provisioning got messed up before. It's been known to happen before.

I work for the service provider :-)

Service books were a no go. Even a full-out wipe didn't suffice.... I see the word "FUBAR" in the near future.
