Wow! Thanks for the info pdx. That's gonna be a sexy phone. I didn't care for the original bold in white, however, I the the sleeker design of the 9700 will accommodate the white very well!! Thanks!
Out of the 4 OS's I've tested on my 9700, the strongest was the 586 release - - This will be great for Tmo!

I like T-Mobile, but I have to say they are always behind the curve (not BB Curve!). I have been running the official release of .656 for the past week and in my opinion it is better than .586...battery life is at lease 20% better. That being said, a white 9700 sounds nice.
Greetings from the Land of OZ!
Here's a pic of it from BerryReview
True, T-Mo has always been behind on their introduction of OSs. They have a financial interest in doing that, however. The most glaring example I can think of is the 8700g device: It was shipped from Tmo with 184.108.40.2067, and then about a year after its introduction RIM introduced 4.2 for it. (I still remember how excited everyone was!) The problem with 4.1 and 4.2 was that MMS was not available without a data plan/service books. Therefore, if you wanted to receive/send picture messages on your 8700 from Tmo, you had to buy the data plan. When RIM introduced 4.5 for the 8700g, one of the differences was that with the new OS came the ability to send and receive MMS without a data plan: and Tmo, seeing their revenues dropping if this new OS made it to their branded 8700s, refused to offer 4.5 for the 8700 at their website. They may still offer 4.2 as the "latest" update - who knows, I'm too lazy to check right now. But if they would have offered 4.5 when RIM introduced it, they would have lost a lot of their income from data plans! That's why they lag behind in OS introductions.

I'm not going to "downgrade" back to 586 because they are too similar and it's not worth the effort. I'm on the edge of my chair waiting for 6.0!

BTW I received the "official" email from RIM about an hour ago announcing 586 for T-Mobile with a link to their download area.
I just checked my account and It's not up yet. TMO twittered that they are working on it.
The white 9700 release is slated for tmrw 5/26 trying to think if I will turn in my original 9700 for it, I might I like it....
the white bold does look nice
Phone: T-Mo S4- Stock-Rooted
Device: T-Mobile S3
Device: HTC Amaze 4G
Device: HTC Vision (T-Mobile G2)
Device: BlackBerry (9700, 8900,8320,8120,8100)
The WhiteBerry 9700 is def nice, I will be selling my original 9700. Its not a flat white either it is pearlescent with some gold flakes that show in the light. I hope this is a limited edition color, the person from T-mobile couldn't tell me that but I can hope....
