Question "*" still marked on messages when there aren't any

Ok I will try to explain this the best that I can - I am a newbie.
When email messages come in there is an envelope that shows there are new messages and a "*" by the "envelope" on the screen. I read my messages and delete them all, but the "*" remains on the email envelope icon. How does that go away?
(note: I also checked my text messages; sms messages; im messages - they are all empty)

I was going to ask if you have your sms/mms messages separte? if so then do a battery pull it should clear it right up.

A Battery pull always fixes it on my Bold. Nothing else seem to solve the problem.

I've run into that too. Seems to happen when I get an email and all of the pictures do not load all the way. Like the others, nothing but a battery pull fixes it.

See if doing the "alt" "right shift" and "del" reset will clear it up for you. Sure beats physically pulling the battery. It works for me when it happens.
