Snowy Display like an old TV

My new AT&T Bold is currently on .167 the standard out of the box OS.

I am seeing the spinning clock frequently.

Also I had one episode of the display going blank for a millisecond, then showing a plain snowy appearance with a thin vertical line down the middle. The left side was red "snow" and the right side was green. When this occurred, nothing would stop it except a hard reset.

Once that was done, it was fine until it randomly restarted itself.

Since those two, one time only experiences, it's been fine. And yet I've lost some confidence and think that perhaps it's time to try another version of the OS. Before I do, I just thought I would take my time to see what others have to say about the various choices.

    Thoughts? Suggestions? Experiences... Anyone?

    Thanks

Maybe you got a Special Bold Xmas edition ?

Jokes aside, .167 was never my favorite i had frequent random reboots on it.
The official .190 or even its beta were my favorite.
No reboots, no lag, no memory leak - i was quite happy.

I'm being a extra cautious before I go to any new OS version as I've read that they all have certain issues. Thus I'm looking for as much feedback as possible. I'm really not interested in doing this more than once if I can limit it.

I can't say anything about 185. I have been using 190 for almost a week with no complaints. The worst problem I have had so far has been that I needed to reinstall one application after the upgrade. Hope it helps.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Why did you upgrade, and what did it fix?
Can you provide the link to .190?

It seems to have helped a little with my battery life. Possibly because it doesn't switch between 2G and 3G as much at work. If I went from one side of the building to the other it would switch. It doesn't seem as sensitive now.

WOW!! I would have quit after the third one (which I did when dealing with the 8100 which was perfect timing because I was able to get my 8120). I admire you for the dedication. I also knew someone else who is on their 2nd Bold. First one was freezing up badly.

Given the fact that number 6 is indeed my lucky number, maybe there is a message here? ... frankly until just now I didn't even think about it.

Thanks EricaJ... your humor is just what I needed...
