I have a couple of silly questions if you all do not mind. Will there be a colorball app for the Bold ? or is it not capable of being changed?

It is not changeable. The only BB you could do that on is the one youre using because it had colored LEDs under the trackball.

My understanding is the Pearl is the only one with multi-color LED's in the trackball. There is a 'colorball' app for other devices but it just changes the notification LED colors.

More specifically, I think it was only the Pearl 8100 that had the multicolor LEDs. Even successors to the orignal switched to only wite LEDs.

Some people have reported that coloring the LED's with a sharpie or other relatively perminant marker has allowed them to acheive the same affect. I'd be leary about doing this while the device is under warranty though -- especially since some people are reporting early problems with the Bold.

Not to mention -- it's be a lot of work getting to the LED's as the track ball isn't removable without taking the device apart.
    As always, just my opinion...
