If you are on .125, definitely upgrade.

Dont worry... Rogers does not care about what OS you have on your phone. They may ask you and if then ask you to downgrade their official release... but it will not harm your phone.

I was in exactly the same boat, my Rogers Bold was boxed with .125 and I was happy to move up to .162 a week ago or so. Overall things have been going very well, I'll more then likely be sticking with .162 until an update comes around that addresses the font size and word wrap issues of the internet browser when viewing most forums.

Mine also came with .125. I upgraded to .162 from Rogers over the weekend then last night to .185 using TIM-Italy site. It doesn't matter which carrier OS you use. Once you are done, the device links up with Rogers network and you are good to go complete with rogers logo. I did notice a difference upgrading to .162. System seemed faster, more responsive. Haven't had time to test out .185 but from all the reviews, it's fast and stable.

I don't use the Bold much during the day but I have thought battery life could be better.

    Maybe I'll give .185 a shot.

I had the same problem. On .125 my battery was dead by noon. When I used .162 it improved and battery died at 14h00

After .168 it improved a lot. I am able to make it through the day most of the time. I have chargers everywhere just in case I need to top up. Car, office, home etc.

I am a fairly heavy user too. I received 384 emails today, I use over 4000 minutes each month. Some MSN, some SMS, and some BlackBerry Messenger too.

Try anything over .168 and battery life should be a lot better

Wow, great info...coming from a MUCH heavier data user its nice to hear things like that. I'm definitely gonna try out .185 and see how things change.
