Quick question regarding adding APN : internet.com

    Hi all,

I was just wondering what the difference was in adding this setting in the APN?
And how it affects anything on the phone.

I had to put this in to make the flycast streaming audio application work.

    Thx
    JR

A lot of 3rd party apps need the apn to access the internet, and that varies for each carrier. Who do you go through?

I'm with Rogers and have the sorta unlimited BB data plan
In what way does it affect data on the phone ( i.e speed, amount ... )

basically the APN routes your internet connexion through your provider's gateway.
Some app dont need it and just go through the RIM servers, some app need it to work PROPERLY (some will still work but not as well).
Opera Mini works better with it, Flycast need them as you mentioned etc...

    Rogers APN:
    domain: internet.com
    user: wapuser1
    pass: wap

Nope. All included in whatever data plan you have.
