Not sure if this has been answered before but our BB browser always ... BlackBerry Bold forum
Quick question about WAP and Bold
Not sure if this has been answered before but our BB browser always goes to WAP when streaming radio and youtube etc...
What's the difference and in regards to quality/data being used.
Pardon my ignorance!
WAP is slower, you can turn it off WAP and use 3G
Ahhh , will turn off the prompt . thanks for that lesson
Actually I turned off the prompt ... where do I turn it off completely, where is the option so it doesn't use WAP?
Launch the Browser
Uncheck the box that says
Switching to WAP for Streaming Media
Now all Streaming media will be on 3G. All you did was turn off the notification. That was not what I meant.
The key once you change to the 3G mode is simply to monitor battery life, as it can be used up fairly quickly.
It won't make a difference, the steps I outlined turns of WAP when you stream video from the browser. 3G is used by default for the phone and regular browsing.
Question is why is WAP still used by default? is there a tech reason behind this?
please enlighten me
i dont think WAP is the default option as i just checked my bold and the Switching to WAP for Streaming Media was already unchecked and i never touched that.
