PUK Code - Unblock SIM Card

I was looking at my Account on AT&T's website. On the page with My Phone, there was a link for "PUK Code - Unblock SIM Card ". What is this for? Is this what I would use to take my phone somewhere else or is this something different? There doesn't seem to be a charge for it.

Your SIM Card has a password, if you enter it incorrectly, after several attempts, it will lock your SIM card

The PUK code is used to unlock your SIM

There should be 2 PUK Codes.

It will not allow you to use the phone in another country. It just unlocks your SIM if you locked it by mistake

The personal unblock key (PUK) is a security feature set by your wireless service provider. If you type an incorrect personal identification number (PIN) code three times while setting up a new BlackBerry device, the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card stops functioning and the BlackBerry device becomes locked. To unlock it, you must type the PUK code for the SIM card. Contact the wireless service provider for the PUK code.

PUK codes are not exclusive to BlackBerries. It applies to all GSM phones.
