    Hey everyone,

I just upgraded from the 8100 to the 9000.
Backed up all my info from the 8100 and loaded it up to the 9000.
    Got 2 problems though.

    1. It did not transfer bb messenger contact list to the 9000.
    2. I used to send bulk messages out to groups that I created on my 8100 but,
I can't seem to find them in my phonebook.

    Can anyone assist?

    Thanks

Do you have the latest DM on your PC?

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
Go to the most recent 8100 backup and do a selective load of those two items onto your new device. There is a chance that you may not be able to get them onto your Bold.

I agree. I have read on threads here that DM does not work well with the Bold, especially when you are transferring from another BB to the Bold. Little bits and pieces of data do not completely sync.

What about the Switch Device Wizard? That should have moved everything. I used that when I went from my 8100 to my 8120.

I also used the Switch Device Wizard when I moved from my Curve to my Bold and all my BlackBerry Messenger contacts moved over with no problems.

you should use Device Switcher in the DM rather than backup old device and restore to new.

I played it safe. I heard there were problems with the Switch Device Wizard.

I used it, then backed up my Bold and wiped it out completely. Then I did a selective restore from my back up.

The issue I read was that if you use the Switch Device Wizard, it will transfer over specific settings from your previous device that may not be compatible with the Bold. So to ensure I didn't have any old garbage, I wiped the device and just restored my address book and Messenger contacts.
