Subject: Blackberry Bold Email Issue

Customers that have purchased the Blackberry Bold may have issues with their email. All emails have messed up text like "DOCTYPE html PUBLIC .??W3C// DTD......" etc. They can go to the menu and select 'get plain text' and will be able read their message. It's not a hardware issue, according to At&t they're aware of the problem and in the process of rectifying the problem. The problem exists on RIM's side, and also occurs when you transfer your accounts over to a new device.

DO NOT EXCHANGE THE CUSTOMERS PHONE, ITS AN INTERNAL ISSUE THAT BLACKBERRY AND AT&T ARE AWARE OF.

According to Rim-
The RIM representative simply had me delete my email account related service books. He then altered some settings related to my device (PIN). This was done on RIM's end. (Your service provider does not have access to these settings). Then he resent my service books and everything started working.

Customer Escalation procedure-
1. Call at&t tech support.
2. Escalate to at&t tier 2 technical support.
3. Escalate to RIM technical support.
