Should that affect her since she is not on BES?

Also was the phone purchased new or from someone that maybe had BES at one time?

Think it could be an IT policy that is still resident on the phone? Would that affect all downloads or just some?

well, if it was pre-owned, it could still have an IT policy on it. i've read those are really difficult to get off.

still not 100% sure the wireless upgrade goes to bb or to carrier. prob carrier, which (sorry for the hi-jack) i'll be eternally jacked bc i have my 8220 on the ATT network

many IT policies prevent the user from downloading 3rd party apps/themes. not sure how that works bc i've never had a bb on BES.

I am almost 80% positive that is is carrier specific. Unless your carrier releases and updated OS it will always say no update available even though there is a newer OS on another carrier.

What carrier was your Bold originally? Is there any branding on it at all?

Kind of curious how the guy got the phone in the first place. He worked in the warranty dept? Wonder if he sold a phone with known issues! Makes me wonder......
