    Inheriting Slightly Used 9700

    Advertisement

    I might be getting a 9700 locked to T-Mobile in a week or so (thankfully ending my 5 month foray back in the Windows Mobile world) to activate in August. I installed the OS on my PC but for the life of me CANNOT find where I need to put the vendor code for T-Mobile to unlock the AT&T theme on it when I get it. Can someone post the exact place the vendor code needs to go? Thanks.

    100( is Tmo)

    i.e

    <fileset series="Onyx" _vendorID="136|215|216|418">
    <files>
    net_rim_theme_telefonica_zen_480x360_b_03.cod

    ---changed to tmo---

    <fileset series="Onyx" _vendorID="100">

    Everyone is correct, the 9700 is hands down the best offering from RIM to date. Congrats!

    Thanks for the input everyone. I will let you all know when I get it. What are some good apps (I am already going to load Twitter, AIM, MSN, BeeJive, Google Talk, ICQ, and Yahoo IM on it) to get for it, such as games, etc? I HOPE I won't have to worry about the dreaded memory leak. And is 5.0.0.743 the latest OS for it? Anything newer?

    Memory leak is a thing of the past. I've had my 9700 for almost 4 months now and have not had to do a battery pull for any reason at all. and my free memory is 121 mb and has been for a long time. 743 is the most current os. Also pleasantly missing is the long processor pauses that you remember, like when changing themes, or "organizing calendar", or sometimes even when changing desktop pictures. Remember how long that used to take? Remember the spinning hourglass? A spinning hourglass is very rare because of the extra memory and the faster processor. I can change themes and return to full functionality in less than ten seconds. I think you'll be pleased.

    Erica, there is no memory leak on this device. .743 is the latest OS at this point.

    I've never had so many apps on my phone! I have Trillian, vLingo, eDictionary, CardStar, YouVersion bible, SmrtGaurd, most of the Bellshare apps (berryweather, berrybuzz, berrypopup, weatherpeek), SocialScope, iheartradio, Nobex Radio Companion, Pandora, YouMail, Google Maps, AppWorld, Facebook, Mileage Tracker, Tether, Google Talk......

    Hey london, to access the file go to program files, common files, research in motion folder, shared loader files and then open the alx file with notepad app. Be careful what you edit tho! Do this at your own risk
