Hi, this is my first post, and sadly it concerns a problem with my phone.

I own a BB bold, and have been using it for some months now, and suddenly today the screen went blank, it appears to do everything, receive messages, calls and what not, but the screen is blank, does anyone know how to fix this and/or the cause of this, help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you drop the phone? It could have damaged the screen.

No actually I didnt drop it, I've dropped it yes, but not around the time of the problem or anything, it first started like this, when I used it and the screen turned itself off, and then i turned it on it went blank for a second then to normal, then after a while it just stayed blank.

Welcome to PinStack marcyano. Sorry to hear about your device. Have you taken the battery out since the screen went dark? It could be a minor hiccup, or it could be something worse. You may want to see it if will successfully connect to your PC using the Desktop Manager program that came on the disk with the phone. Use the backup utility to back up the info from your device. This way, if you need a replacement, you can at least preserve the data, contacts, etc... from your current device.

It could be physical damage from the drop which the carrier will make you pay full retail for a replacement, or it could be software related in which your device is covered by a one year warranty. If it is software related, we may be able to help you save your device without getting a replacement.

Ok, might seem silly but is the phone on standby mode? Sometimes the simplest problems stump me because I tend to overthink things!

    Didn't even think of that.

Stand by key is at the top of your device marcyano, on the left above the screen.

Not its not in standby, by blank I mean white, It does work with the desktop manager, I backed it up as soon as I had the malfunction. I have no clue what it might be.

Ive also done the battery pull a few times, with no luck

Ok, try this thread out. It should help you to reinstall the operating system if your issue is software related. We could try other things as well if there is a response from the screen. If your screen does nothing at all, a replacement may be necessary.

I'm just concerned more so if your screen shows no signs of life. Even if you went through downloading and installing your current or an updated OS, it wouldn't do much if your screen is dead completely.

Do you think it might be completely dead even if its white, or by completely dead do you mean as if the phone was off, cause mine is white.

it also turns off normally, and when i hit the standby button it fades away like it should. what do you think?

You could try and install an updated OS, however if this does not resolve this issue you may need to contact your carrier and inquire them about a warranty replacement as devices do go bad occasionally. With your Bold being a new device, as long as the carrier deems it software related, they will replace your device under the one year manufacturers warranty.
