My new Bold worked fine for three days,
Then I shut it down. Pulled the battery for 30 seconds,
then put the battery back and got these error codes,
    in this exact sequence:

    Uncaught Exception
    net.rim.device.api.system
    Unsupported Operation Exception

    ---- pressed OK ----

    Uncaught Exception
    Java.lang.nullpointer
    Exception

    --- pressed OK ---

    Uncaught Exception
    Java.lang error

    --- pressed OK ---

    Uncaught Exception
    Application Registry.wait for
    ox 7491 F 7 B 6 AE 80861 A

    Time out
    ---------------------

    Ideas, suggestions?

    Thanks

I had the same problem on saturday. the email/messaging service books never showed up on mine and I got the same errors.

Just do another pull and let it boot up again and you should be back to normal

Yes, I did this and it is back to normal, but I'm interested in learning what the codes meant, and what's going on to cause that.

From my point of view, it looks like the OS itself is throwing exceptions during boot. I'm not sure what conditions would cause it to happen only some of the time (timeout, deadlock or race condition are the three off the top of my head) but I wouldn't think it was a good thing!
    As always, just my opinion...

You can jus do a reset and don't have to pull the battery out everytime...

I get the same errors, quite often actually. I even have issues with custom themes not showing properly until a few battery pulls. Probably gonna sell my bold.

For clarification. My Bold worked fine. No problems. I was simply pulling the battery to help speed up the browser, after clearing the cache, history, etc.

At the time it was just three days old, no apps added or anything. It was _After_ I pulled the battery that these codes appeared.

After recording what the error messages said. I did another battery pull, and it booted up normally.

At no time have I had an operational issues, as the Bold is functioning just fine other than the occasional stall from the browser which is something that I've experienced on every BB from time to time. Not frequent, but it does happen.

Under what circumstances do you experience these errors? Do they occur during operation, and if so, using what apps or ?

    Thanks

They happen after battery pulls. And also after I press OK, none of my IM applications show and none of the keyboard shortcuts work. Then I do a reset and everything appears fine.

What method are you using for a reset?

you've joined the Bold club... this is just another in a long line of initiation ceremonies offered by the BB9000... others should soon follow.

mine now gives those errors, errors that members have said only happen with a batt pull, when the device is running. ill pull from the holster and icons will be gone and ill have those java lang errors, etc. i have to do a batt pull sometimes up to three times before it goes back to a functioning state. ive even tried doing a full power off before pulling the battery, but it still comes up with such problems.

i hope RIM frequents this forum.

I agree, because I had these errors with the OS that came installed on the device. I have since upgraded the NEW BETA OS and everything is running smooth!
    Old OS: 4.6.0.167
    New OS: 4.6.0.190

I only had .167 on the device long enough to get .185 installed. Both .185 and .190 have the java errors for me.

How long have you been running .190? I'm up for changing to the newer OS, but stability is a big issue as my BB is for mission critical work.

    Thanks
