    Post Charger Pod accessories

    Folks,

Since I now have a Bold, I am interested in getting a desktop charger, like the ones at blackberry.com.

There are 2 for the bold and I am looking for information and advice

(had links but had to remove as I am not lev 2 yet, you can look up these devices on blackberry dot com by clicking on the accessories link and following the chargers link)

There is this one Charging Pod For 34.99, pros, small, not much desk space needed, looks great

and there is this one , Powerstation + Mini EBC for 99.99, Pros, charge 2nd battery, takes other inserts for other bb.

Big question, will these charge via the USB port on the upper left side of the bb, or do they have some way of charging through the base of the device?

I would prefer to just insert my bb and have it charge without being required to insert a usb cable into the side of the phone.

Also, if it still required the unsert of a usb into the side, the price is outraqgeous.

    Thanks,

    ART

i cant talk about the second one but on the charging pod you just need to dock your Bold in it. Basically at the bottom sides of the phones youll see dock connectors which allow it to charge.
And you just plug your usb cable at the back of the pod.
Thats for the First one, not sure about the second one sorry

The Pod is the best you could hope for. No more having to unplug your phone when you get a call. Seems alot of USB connectors go bad so I am glad you can charge now by just dropping it into the pod.

The station thing is overkill. Do you have/need an extra battery?

I just got the pod in the mail. You just plug the USB into the back of the pod and the Bold charges when you drop it in the pod. Pretty sweet.

No, dont need an extra battery, this is not like my old Treo650 (2 batt a day) I am getting about 1.5 days on a full charge with BT, WiFi, and 3G and BES.

Thanks to ranxorens answer I believe that I have narrowed it down to the pod, and for the price of the station, I can put a pod on my desk and one on the nightstand. they do look nice.

Yep have one at my office desk and one on my nightstand. When powered they have a cold blue LCD light on the back edge. They are nicely weighted and they DO look nice.

i have the charger pod, and it works great. its not as nice as the Curces charger pod with the lighted up blackberry symble in the front, its just a staight up docking station, but if your like me and use it as an alarm, its very nice to stand up beside your bed, and have it set to automaticly go to BedSide mode as soon as it hits the charger, Beautiful addition, and a must have in my books

I was pleasantly surprised when mine arrived. I expected a flimsy plastic pod.

    I bought it here: http://www.handhelditems.com/blackbe...e-p-19168.html

It is cheaper for the same thing.

Realized it was cheaper at newegg.com lol
