    Bold PIN Messages

    Hi all,

Well new the forum, and was wondering if any of you guys know of how to get the PIN messages into their own separate folder like the email accounts etc.

Its just that I use the PIN messaging a lot, but dont like them just sitting in the message folder..

    Thanks in advance

    Lou

Nope. PIN messages go into the main messages folder unless you are using BlackBerry Messenger.

This would definitely be a great feature from RIM in the future.

instead of using pin messaging, why not just add a contact to bb msngr and all the messages would be sorted by conversation then...

Okay, this will probably sound like a really dumb question, but please keep in mind that the Bold is my very first BlackBerry.... what exactly is PIN messaging? Is it the same thing as BB Messenger? No laughing at me now!!

Pin Messaging is similiar to an email between 2 blackberry pins. Blackberry messenger is more like a blackberry instant message between blackberry users. Hope that explains it for you.

I agree that it would make much more sense to just add the contact to your BB Messenger. The main difference of course is that the BB Messenger displays messages in the form of an IM conversation as opposed to individual messages.

I guess whatever suites you best, just so long as you know your options.

I think the idea is that PIN messages are device to device and are supposedly more "private" than bbm. If you're on an enterprise server, it doesn't matter, everything is logged. As I understand it if you are not connected to any network, pin to pin messages are more secure than the blackberry messenger chat window. Can anyone confirm?

So if I read these posts correctly..... Pin Messaging is basically a BB-only email between BB users ; and BB Messenger is basically an IM program just between BB users??

So much to learn still......... But I'm lovin' every second of it!!

You're correct, and wether its used or not it's a great thing to know that there are multiple secure ways of doing things on our BB's.
